Another day, another Nikon D800 rumour… or a tantalising glimpse at an alleged picture of the D700 replacement, at any rate. Rumours are circulating that Nikon's new full-frame DSLR will be confirmed on February 7th, to coincide with the CP+ photography show in Japan. The D700's successor is expected to feature a 36MP FX CMOS sensor, offering three times the resolution of the current camera. Landscape and studio photographers might relish this generous bump in resolution, but the associated increase in file size has implications for both write times (slower) and storage (more required).

Can I use an SDHC memory card from a camcorder in a digital camera?

Is there any particular compatibility issue here? I have a Panasonic HDC SD10 camcorder, and want to get a Nikon Coolpix camera that takes SD cards.

You can use the same card, but after you have copied any data (images, videos, etc.) off of it first, then format it within the the device that it is being used in.

I wouldn't worry. Pretty much all digital cameras can accept any SDHC memory card without any compatibility problems. If the Coolpix camera was made after June 2006 it will almost certainly support SDHC.

As long as they both take sd cards and you format the card in your camera before you start taking pictures.
