My favorite camera for night photography has to be the d3000 with 35mm 1.8g and 18-55mmm vr. that's the perfect combination.
1.8 such a large aperture will let in more light and faster shutter speed. i shoot night scenery such as landscape, therefore i never have to use flash. i dont like shooting flash at night, it just ruin the picture.
a tripod is a must if you want sharp images. i like my iso low as possible if iam leaving shutter speed open longer. especailly at night, you will notice grain if you crank up the iso, therefore if tripod being used, no need for high iso.

Nikon Officially Discontinues D700, D300s Cameras

Nikon watchers expected the D700 to go away, however there has been little in the way of information regarding a D300s replacement. According to Nikon Rumors the upcoming D800 will be revealed on Tuesday, February 7th.
The D800 will sport a 36 megapixel image sensor and provide 51 auto focus points. USB 3.0 support and dual memory card slots are also expected, along with the Nikon Expeed 3 image processor. The display on the D800 could surpass three inches, and ISO sensitivity up to 6400 (ISO HI-2 at 25600) has also been rumored. The D800 may even come in two different models, with and without an antialiasing filter.

I have 3 Fullfield IIs (2 3x9s costing $175 & $199, and 4.5x14 for $250), 2 more expensive Gold Ring Leupolds ($299 and $399), and a Nikon Monarch ($275) currently on front line rifles. All are performing very well. I've no experience with the new E1 FFIIs, but if my older Burris scopes are any indication, they should be fine. The Leupolds are great (a VX-2 and a FX-3). From compact to DSLR.
My first camera was the Olympus C150 , a 2 megapixel camera. I always carried a compact camera with me to capture things that I was experiencing. Before leaving to Europe I got a brand new camera from a really good friend. He told me that I will meet a lot of people and visit a lot of places so I needed a new camera. Wuaw, that was an amazing camera. It was 6 megapixels and took really good macro pictures. I took pictures of my friends in school, buildings and architecture in the city and also of the beautiful blue waters of the beach. My mission call was to preach the gospel in Europe for 2 years. In short I took pictures everywhere and of everyone. It was the Sony cybershot DSC-W50. WUAAW, I totally loved the Sony cybershot....

Dual memory card slots would go some way to help alleviate some of these concerns, but rather than using two CompactFlash slots, can we expect the D800 to opt for an XQD and CF card combination, as in the Nikon D4. Another day, another Nikon D800 rumour… or a tantalising glimpse at an alleged picture of the D700 replacement, at any rate. Rumours are circulating that Nikon's new full-frame DSLR will be confirmed on February 7th, to coincide with the CP+ photography show in Japan. The D700's successor is expected to feature a 36MP FX CMOS sensor, offering three times the resolution of the current camera. Landscape and studio photographers might relish this generous bump in resolution, but the associated increase in file size has implications for both write times (slower) and storage (more required).

When it comes to video capabilities, the D4 handles 1080p in varying framerates, 30fps, 25fps and 24fps, as well as super slow-mo clips at 60fps in a 720p resolution. The Nikon D4 may cost just short of five grand, but it packs in over 45 new or improved features than that of its predecessor. Nikon has unveiled a new flagship DSLR, catering for the professional market and those with extremely fat wallets. Connectivity has been upgraded too, with Wi-Fi support available through a WT-5 wireless transmitter as well as a wired connection. It also raises the ISO bar, excelling up to 12800 and boasting 11fps capture rates with optimised noise reduction. 2Mp FX format sensor throws in the most recent Expeed 3 image processor for super-fast shooting speeds and varied lighting conditions.

A Day at the Zoo with my Leica M9-P and 50 Summitar f/2
I used to shoot with a Nikon D2h myself and I had the typical lenses most Nikon shooters had at that time. 4, the 24-70…all big and heavy lenses, especially the 70-200. My son Brandon has really been getting into his Nikon D2h lately. It performed exceptionally well but at the end of the day I was so tired of lugging it all around AND having to push a stroller through the zoo. He doesn’t seem to mind it but he is eyeballing the little Nikon V1 and Sony NEX-7 that I have been carrying around. He hasn’t felt the full pain of lugging it around with a 70-200 VR yet, hahaha. Today my son and I decided to take a photo stroll through the Wildlife World Zoo in Phoenix to enjoy the nice day and get some cool snaps out of it as well. The 70-200 VR, the 85 1. Many years ago when he was really young we would go to this same Zoo and I would have to rent a stroller....

It isn't a lens but a filter that threads on to the front of any 58mm thread lens. All ithe kit 18-55mm lenses are a 58mm thread.

Rumor has it BSS is a cool feature that rattles off 3 frames and stores only the 'best' - the one with the most information, i. e. , sharpest & best exposed (but I haven't used it). I did I have been using the Coolpix 5000 for the past few weeks, just enough time to shoot 1,000+ photos. My 3rd Nikon and 1st digital, it's lived up to my expectations: I've been more than pleased with the quality of the images, my ultimate criterion. If you want to capture quality digital images for selected printing in 8x10 sizes or larger - and are willing to invest the time in learning how to make that happen - then this could be the camera for you....
